Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the identification?
Every photo is checked by two independent AI sources. When they agree, you'll see a high-confidence result. When they disagree, Plant Keep tells you it's "not fully sure" and shows the close matches instead of guessing. For the best results, take a clear, well-lit photo of a leaf or flower up close.
Why did the app say "not fully sure" or "that's not a plant"?
That's by design — it's the honest confidence layer. Rather than confidently give a wrong answer, Plant Keep flags uncertainty and asks you to retake the photo or pick from close matches. If it can't detect a plant at all, it will tell you.
How do reminders work?
When you add a plant to My Garden, Plant Keep schedules care tasks based on the plant and the conditions you set (light, pot, placement). Reminders appear on your lock screen with a one-tap "Done," and outdoor watering can adjust for recent rain and season. Make sure notifications are enabled in your device Settings.
How do I start, manage, or cancel my subscription?
Plant Keep Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription with a free trial. To manage or cancel, open your iPhone Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Plant Keep, or use "Manage subscription" in the app. If you cancel during a free trial before it ends, you won't be charged. Note that deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I already paid — how do I restore my subscription?
On a new device or after reinstalling, open the paywall or Settings and tap Restore purchases. Your Pro access is tied to your Apple ID.
Does Plant Keep work offline?
Your saved garden, notes, reminders, and history are stored on your device and work offline. Fresh identification and diagnosis require an internet connection because photos are analyzed by our providers.
Where is my data stored? How do I delete it?
Plant Keep is account-free and local-first: your plants, notes, and photos live on your device. To delete your data, remove plants in-app or delete the app. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@plantkeep.app. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Is the care and toxicity information reliable?
Care and toxicity guidance is grounded in horticultural data and provided for general information only. It can be incomplete — please don't rely on it alone for decisions about eating a plant or keeping it around children or pets. When in doubt, consult a professional. See our Terms of Use.
