Privacy Policy

Effective date: 8 July 2026 · Last updated: 8 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Plant Keep ("Plant Keep", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Plant Keep mobile application (the "App"). Plant Keep is published by Everis. We built the App to be private by design: it works without an account, and the plants, photos, notes, and reminders you create are stored primarily on your device.

Short version: We don't require an account. Your garden data lives on your device. When you identify or diagnose a plant, that photo is sent to our identification and care providers to process your request. We never sell your personal information.

1. Information we collect

Information collected automatically

2. How we use information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos to train our own advertising or unrelated machine-learning models.

3. Where your data lives

Plant Keep is local-first. The plants in your garden, your notes, photos, reminders, collections, and history are stored on your device. Because there is no account, this data is not synced to our servers. If you delete the App, this on-device data is removed with it. Some data (such as identification/care results and subscription status) is processed through our servers and the providers listed below.

4. Service providers

We share the minimum data necessary with trusted providers who process it on our behalf:

ProviderPurposeData shared
Plant.id / KindwisePlant identification & health assessmentThe plant photo you submit
Anthropic (Claude)Second-source identification cross-checkThe plant photo you submit
PerenualCare & reference contentPlant species queried
Open-MeteoWeather-aware wateringApproximate location (city)
RevenueCat & AppleSubscriptions & billingPurchase identifier, subscription status
CloudflareSecure backend & deliveryRequests routed through our service

These providers are permitted to use your data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users.

5. Your photos

When you identify or diagnose a plant, the photo is sent to our identification providers (Plant.id/Kindwise and Anthropic) to process your request and returned to you as a result. Results may be cached to make repeat lookups faster, more consistent, and lower-cost. We do not publish your photos or use them to identify you.

6. Location

Location is optional. You can grant approximate location access or simply type a city. We use it only to localize care guidance and weather-aware watering. You can change or remove a plant's city at any time, and you can revoke location permission in your device Settings.

7. Data retention

On-device data is kept until you delete it or remove the App. Photos processed for identification/diagnosis are retained only as long as needed to return and cache results. Subscription records are retained as required for billing and legal purposes.

8. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing (for example under the GDPR or CCPA). Because Plant Keep is account-free and local-first:

9. Children

Plant Keep is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use industry-standard measures — including encryption in transit and keeping API credentials on our servers rather than in the App — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice in the App or on this page.
